Glen
Brown is one of reggae's most inspirational figures, a true icon of the 70's, starting off as a singer in the late 60's (singing harmony for
Derrick Harriott and recording duets with Dave Barker) before becoming one of
Jamaica's leading melodica players and a real 'hands-on' record producer.
His
highly collectable Pantomine label was legendary and when Glen came to the UK
in the late 80's it seemed only right that the Fashion production team – all huge fans
of the man's work – should get together with the original ‘God Son’ and
make some music!
The
result was the ‘Music From the East’ album, ten tracks of melodica madness with
Glen blowing free over some classic Fashion rhythms.
Mystical,
meditative and melodic, it’s a collection that shows Glen’s individual approach
to making instrumental reggae in his own inimitable style….
