New releases from Fashion ....

Greetings music lovers!

After a long absence we've finally made some more albums available digitally..... enjoy!

JA to UK CLASH …… Asher Senator versus Johnny Ringo

The latest trawl through the Fashion archives has unearthed this seminal dancehall album, which has now finally been made available in a digital format for the very first time since it’s original release in 1985.

The album features tracks from two of reggae’s leading MCs, with Johnny Ringo representing Jamaica while Asher Senator flies the flag for Great Britain, both artists showcasing their individual styles on a selection of tough Fashion dancehall rhythms.

Unfortunately Ringo met an untimely death in 2005, but his intelligent and witty lyrics live on, and the tracks on this album demonstrate why he was such a popular deejay both on vinyl and live on sound systems ….. in fact his tracks were recorded immediately prior to his debut UK appearance at the People’s Club where the Jamaican Gemini sound played against one of the UK’s top sets, the infamous Saxon. This is actually the dance where Fashion ‘discovered’ Asher (and of course Smiley Culture), so a good night’s work all in all!

JA to UK Clash was voiced and mixed at Fashion’s original A-Class Studio underneath the renowned Dub Vendor shop at Clapham Junction and is now available from iTunes, Amazon and Reggae Records Store.

PS … don’t forget to check out Asher’s amazing book ‘Smiley & Me’, a memoir of his friendship with his late, lamented sparring partner Smiley Culture.

And a reminder that both the Massive Horns’ Merrie Melodies and the legendary Raw Rub A Dub albums are both available for download from iTunes, Amazon and Reggae Records Store.......
